Yes the 60hp transmission is completely different and very fragile. The is a 60hp commercial transmission that uses the big v8 gears but it is quite rare. Case is 60hp only.

I’m not home or I could send pecs but the adapter spacer needs to have an ID that centers the shaft adapter button. This is nothing new and been used for years on flatheads with different ignitions...

Instead of a machining a new shaft could you not use a button adapter like is used with a degree plate or when adapting a short nose cam to a 3 bolt distributor that originally used a long nose cam....

Typically Fire trucks have had engines rebuilt or replaced several times despite the mileage on vehicle as engine drives the water pump and may have thousands of hours on it.

Ken it seems to me you could use whatever ever points you want. Just have to redrill or make points plate to suit. The coil contact being the small challenge to overcome.

Ronnieroadster is correct. It’s a cast cam.
1932 Steel cams are flat on the front with just the distributor drive slot. Cast have the circle as you can see on the front of cam pictured.

Have you measured the lift? I have two originals and neither has .425” lift. I am led to believe none had exactly.425”.
I also have had a master made off one of my originals.
