Yes, we used them when we started racing, because the ruls said the engines had to look stock. We could bore 1/8 over, stock crank and valves. any cam. To keep the cost down. No body or suspension ...

Stock pistons, I used a set of Ross 3 5/16 x 3 3/4, Cr was 8.7 in 276 ci engine.

As you can see the heads have a sligth popup for the 3 3/4 stroke pistons. Also the piston clearance. I made a doming tool to equal the clearance. simple HC.

I see no power gains in a street engine. The bigger valve would oly be benafical in a large displacement engine at higher revs.

Those look like the Grancor heads I had, mine were for an8BA head and NO Name on them or fins.

I never realized it cost so much to dosome of this work, and how high the prices are. I bought my T 170 style trans from a junkyard in NH for $300 welded some ears on a steek 8BA bell housing bore...

Thanks Pete, for the update. We talked about the cam when he was building it. I thought he used the 400jr, with the c4. 425 would be a better choice??

Re-doming and Milling for .045/,050 piston to head clearance and your good to go. Also I heard that painting them with Latex paint will prevent erosion, can't hurt, worth a try.
