GAV leaking
With the air filter removed, and the car not running, the throat of the carb intake is pooling with fuel. I believe my GAV is fully closed so I assume the needle isn't seating fully.

Re: U-haul open trailer
I just trailered my 1930 coupe from NYC to Connecticut on a U Haul open trailer. The issues I had was the front wheel straps kept slipping of the skinny tires. I used a couple ratchet straps around...

Batt not holding charge
My two year old 6v is losing it's charge. On the bench it will drop from 100% to 75% in 24 hours with no load.
Is it shot? Seems to have enough water.
Thoughts?
Thanks,
Carl

One thing I found, the secondary terminal on the coil and the wire from it were rusted. I think that lead to a hard start and my...

Re: how to bench test a coil??
Thanks Larry,
Not sure if I fully follow you but this is what I have so far.
Using my multimeter I have 1.5 ohms across the primary circuit and no reading across the secondary from either of...

I found this,

...and I'm not getting a reading on the secondary winding. I think I have a 6v coil kicking around from...

Re: 6v charging issue
Hi Patrick,
Sorry, I don't know the charge rate. When the car is in use the battery stays well charged.
Tell me more about the parasitic alternator, I had no idea. How does that happen? What...

Re: 6v charging issue
Update.
I think my charger indicator is funky, it charged all day and never moved much past 50% but when I started the car it turned over as normal. It didn't start, but that because I think I...

Re: 6v charging issue
Good questions. I was driving it around in the fall, I guess that's when it got it's last full charge. It sat all winter with the battery attached and when I went to start it, it was pretty drained,...

Re: 6v charging issue
And I just checked, my cells are covered with water. I’m going to let it charge some more and keep an eye on it.
Thanks all!

Re: 6v charging issue
Does the voltage change during charging or the amperage? Which is a better test to see if the batt is charging?
