Fred, The very first page of the introduction explained quite clearly (or so i thought) the reference for fasteners.

The back pages you refer to list some of the fasteners. Also, not necessarily the concourse correct fasteners.

In the addendum at the rear of the book are complete charts that indicate exactly what you are seeking.
I went to additional effort to list ONLY those fasteners found on a '40 Ford...
