Sounds about right. Doing a complete hood requires a lot of time, especially the louvers.
Wander why the latch wasn't removed.

That's exactly what I did. The spring is too long binding before forcing the arm to
move the shoe. Either cut off some of the spring or better yet do what Rich did and
move the retainer clip....

Those cupped washers work well but were not used originally. As David stated
it is not necessary to cinch those screws. I roll the screw in wax first. Does not gall,

After trying center 32 hood hinges from several venders, I took the
advice from a ford barner and reached out to Rootlieb. Tryed one of their
hinges. Fits perfectly. Fits both their reproduction...

Yes, without grease. The bushing sits tight in the spring eye. the only movement
is the shackle pit to bushing. Lack of grease plus years of dirt can ware through the
bushing right into the spring...

Tom, my Vin# is 200647. I believe it to be the original body to the frame. My
daughter inlaw is helping me with posting pictures. I'm not tecky at all. A fellow
