When it happened to me, the car had been stored in an unheated garage in Minnesota for 3 years.

Once it freed up, it worked like it had before.

I had this same problem with my '51 when I stored it for a couple of years. We took the car out on a deserted road in neutral. put it in gear and push started it. It broke free quite quickly.
