Door panels

Hello, Barners...

Do we know if all 30-31 sedan door panels are the same, or are the '31 slant windshields different? My car is a late '31 Briggs...

Thanks!

Re: Update on ecklers........

Eklers/MACS is gone because of their crap customer service and never ending back orders they never fulfill. Not just Model A but other catalogs they sell too.
They’ll charge your card AFTER...

Re: 1963 galaxie gauge problems

I had to add a ground strap from the fuel tank to the cars frame. The tanks "ground" against the straps that hold it in the car. Sometimes this ground can be poor due to painted parts, etc. I've seen...

Re: Distributor Seized

I pulled the pan and cleaned out everything. There were two pieces of sheared gears in there, so it was worth the job.
The old distributor is un-rebuild-able. I removed the old lower plate to see if...

Re: Distributor Seized

Ok. All put together again. Everything seems to be running good. The Aluminum timing gear is definitely more noisy than the original, but seemed to quiet up some as I run it. I assume it has to "wear...

Re: Distributor Seized

So I tore into everything and removed the oil pan to be sure I got all of the broken pieces. I turned the engine over by hand and inspected the cam gears. They look ok, so I definitely got lucky. I...

Re: Distributor Seized

Thanks everyone. I just read Les's book again to get an idea what to expect. It definitely seems like I got lucky so far. If all looks good in the pan (no shredded cam/timing gears) then I'll...

Distributor Seized

Took the "A" for another shakedown run today. Cruising along just fine for an hour or so, and it just quit. Figured a condenser or something. Going through my roadside checks, no spark. I pop the cap...

Re: 12 volt conversion

Yes, Beater. Most kits do come with the brackets. Some people make brackets out of spring shackles themselves to save $$. Then buy their own alternator, etc. I'm just not interested in that. That's...

12 volt conversion

Hello, everyone.

I'm doing the 12 volt conversion over the winter season. Anyone have a preferred vendor to purchase a complete kit from? I'm not interested in fabricating brackets, or piecing...

Re: Model B Motor won't Rev past 2200RPM

Check that the coil leads are on the correct side. A reversed coil will run until you put it under a good load...something that could be overlooked. Also, check distributor gear. may have broken a...

Re: hinge pins

If the hinges are strait (not twisted, etc.) then ream them so they are all even. If you are going to use the driver's side top hinge to hang a rearview mirror, make sure the reamed hole will support...
