Re: UPDATE - 61st Annual OCMAFC Pancake Breakfast

Great video but too short. I like the pre-war pickups, A panel trucks and even 1940’s Ford coupe’s. They should have edited out the Chevys and other GM cars!

I’m disappointed that they allow so...

Re: Beautiful Day To Breakdown !

I think he’s referring to the plastic ones that you clip onto the edge of the rim. They were originally designed to protect the rims from curb scratches but they come in a lot of colors that look...

Re: 1929 Ford Roadster Pickup

I agree, the whole discussion inane. For example, Xerox Corporation made the first machine in (I believe) the 50’s or 60’s manufactured machines to make copies of original pages. We all called them...

Re: Electric Model A's

I would prefer a hybrid conversion where the stock four banger would be kept for normal driving and charging the batteries, and two electric motors driving the front wheels to accelerate at strop...

Re: 16 Day transformation of 30 pickup.

Dave,

Don't forget that Garage Squad on TV has 6 or 7 people working on the car, 16 days is pretty good for one person.

Re: Front seatback riser question

It doesn’t look like the seat riser on my 29 roadster. The coupe seats that have a wooden frame are also different from the roadster seats which don’t have a wooden frame.

Re: Value of an Un-Restored Model A Engine

A lot of the cheapskates want the parts cheap so they can re-sell them to people who need them. I’ve been to a lot of swap meets where the sellers leave their wives at their space while they’re out...

Re: Tool review.

In the 1970’s, the L.A. Rams drafted a Linebacker named Jack “Hacksaw” Reynolds. The story was that he got the nickname in college when they lost a game he got so mad that he cut up a car with a...

The Automobile Club of Southern California is the AAA Affiliate where I live. They have never refused to tow my vehicles whenever I’ve called them. They have never asked what’s wrong with the...

Re: OT trip to England

If I remember correctly from my Junior High School days back in the 50’s, it would be Stratford on the Avon (river that is).

My wife says she can’t believe I can remember trivia like that but I...

Re: Model "A" Reliability

Logo Lites (logolites.com) also has a fuse box call “A Plate”. It’s pricy but it has a lot of features in addition to fuses.

Re: Oil Extractor

There are a couple of Jiffy Lube places near me but I’ve been afraid to take my car there for an oil change because they have bad reviews. I guess with a name like Jiffy LUBE they would still do lube...

That’s great for someone in Washington or Oregon but it’s like 1,500+ miles from Southern California!

It’s a great road trip to British Columbia (which I have made several times) if you have time...

I have a 5 quart jug of 85-190 gear oil. I’m thinking it would work in the trans and differential since it doesn’t get too cold here in inland Southern California except for a few days in winter and...

Re: ad nauseum-pun intended..............

I bought my 29 Roadster off the MAFCA site. I probably paid a little more for it but it met my criteria. I wanted a car within driving distance so I could see and drive it, and I wanted a car...
