Re: Parts Unknown

Got to thinking about the T wrench. I pulled a plug out of the '32 engine and compared it to the wrench. It does not fit inside either by length or socket size. C.C.M. is rather crudely stamped in 5...

Re: 1932 The Deuce, Dually, Dump Truck

And radiant floor heating. What a dream that would be for me. If I have to be on concrete at least it should be warm. Please keep posting your progress.

Re: Can this be welded?

That is certainly an option. My concern is the cupped flange won't seat correctly. It's not much of a cup but it's enough to possibly allow passage for either liquid or air. Is there any appreciable...

Re: Can this be welded?

The fuel pump started leaking last year (gasket failure). When I took the assembly off there was a gasket but no "oil engine baffle" in that location. The engine was rebuilt in 1972 and has been...

Can this be welded?

This is the flange that mounts the fuel pump on my Avatar '32.. At some point someone over tightened the nut and cracked the flange on one side. The crack does not go all the way through but it has...

Re: Hillbilly block cleaning...electrolysis

Pete, I am unfamiliar with "stripping". What is the process and what chemical(s) are used. Who does it in our area? I'm interested. I have 2 blocks I'd like to get a closer look at.
Thanks, Tom

Re: 1932 1933 1934 truck restoration or hot rod

If it were mine I'd go through all the mechanicals and running gear, clean it and leave it as is. Nice truck but to my eye a restored to perfection or rodded work truck is out of character. Trucks...

I assumed this was a hood latch mechanism. The part # as shown is 11C 8215-B. I searched through the green book under "Hood" and no such # shows. I'll be the first to admit I find that book confusing...

Re: Should I clean them 1st?

Ah, Studebaker. My grandfather had, as I recall a 57? Hawk. I remember that car. Love the styling! I was just a kid. Out of curiosity I'm going to try that pump and see if it spins. I'LL report back.
