Re: Wrong Gear Oil?

600W is more in line with 180-240W. 140 and 250 work fine as stated. 90 is to light. This is discussed very often here.

Re: Time For Clutch Adjustment?

Yep, that is an easier to adjust the clutch. If doing that it makes sense to do other stuff like clean the battery cables. If thats all I need to do though I guess I'm too lazy to take the floor out....

Re: Time For Clutch Adjustment?

Adjusting free-play is pretty straight forward involving the actuating arm rod length. It can a PITA crawling under to get to the linkage.

I don't know, it seems people are in a rush to do everything today including shifting.

All you have to do is push clutch, pull/push shift lever to neutral count one, count two and push/pull lever...

Re: Time For Clutch Adjustment?

Clutch pedal free-play should be 1.0-1.5"

Re: Death Wobble Fixed!

In or out ? Either way thats a lot ! I'm surprised the tires survived that.

If in it would probably handle somewhat manageable , but, if out it had to be all over the road

Re: Wrong Gear Oil?

Its easy enough to change it and not worry about it.

I don't see any difference between 140w and 250w. Its available at Restoration Supply Co. The Meropa should be just fine also.

From what I...

Re: Engine runs on

The only thing in the way is the switch. It goes between coil and points. So you either replace the switch or spray some cleaner thru it. I had to spray the heck out of mine a few years ago.

Re: Voltage/Amperage question?

If your charge rate is always 9 amps without any load then I'd say you have a bad regulator. The needle should move near centered as battery gets charged after the engine start with no load turned...

Re: A few timing gear questions

It does appear you are off a tooth. Being off a tooth changes the valve timing, it'll either advance it or retard it depending. Changing valve timing can be a good thing if done a couple degrees,...

Re: A few timing gear questions

Try to take a really good at the crank gear for the mark, it should be there. That'll let you know for sure.
I think the fellas are right, it does look from what we can see that you are off a tooth.

If the adjusters don't seem to do that then you might need to unhook the rods. If that happens then you'll...

Re: A few timing gear questions

Oil the gears after double and triple checking them. Make sure the nut is TITE.
Grease the plunger and spring. I usually shim the spring if reusing the old one.
