Mohawk 10K lb. 2 post. Hydraulic chain lift.
Optional wheel adaptors which attach to swing arms provide for unobstructed under vehicle access.

Find a NAPA or other user friendly parts store. Usually they have a half ton of trade-in batteries to browse for caps.

Also most scrap metal places take batteries.....

A choice could be; run leads through left most end of firewall to switch mounted on side panel at left of and above level of clutch pedal. Easy to reach and out of direct view..

Suggest you go into site entitled 'model a ford garage' where you may find general information about the variety of keys (shapes, milling, etc.) made for A's.

The A1100 & 1127 #'s should steer you...

Consider the distributor shaft may be thirsty. Mine was. Your description of noise sounds similar. Lube took care of it.
