Re: Off Topic Help Correct fancy wood damage

Try using a small can of Howard's Restore-a-finish. It comes in nine or ten different colors to match the color finish you need to repair, Oak, Walnut, dark Walnut, Ebony, Mahogany, neutral, etc......

Re: Engine wont start.

Most likely no. Gas can go bad, but if you say there's no spark, check if you may be forgetting a kill switch or fuse by the starter.

Re: "A" with wooden spoke wheels....

I've not seen those wheels on a Model A before. Pretty cool. Notice the super nice deluxe ORIGINAL interior.

Re: Here's one for ya ???

It sounds to me like a problem under the distributor plate, namely the tab that contacts the ignition switch cable terminal, either cracked, bent and shorting when you open and close the key switch...

Re: Iím wondering if my coil is going bad

If you decide to get a new coil, try the Pertronix 6 volt, epoxy filled "Flame Thrower" coil. Got mine from Summit Racing, very happy with it too! The part # for that particular coil is:40111. It is...

Re: Frame Repair

I did exactly what Brent is describing to do, 10 years ago, no death wobble (never did) and the bolted-up assembly holds everything in place.

Re: New to Barn 1930 Model A

Beautiful sedan! Replace the original steel fan with a new repro cast aluminum fan and get a reprint or original owners manual and the red Les Andrews repair book is of great help for the garage...

Re: Ford Model A engine noise

You did a good job posting a real video with sound. All these answers are good also but I have to agree with Doug, an induction air leak.

Re: Night ride

For all of us with a pick up and no rear shade, I can feel your pain. "A house of mirrors" for sure. A long time ago I had a spray can of green auto window tint. Unless you remove the glass, it may...

Re: Can I use new cast brake drums with old shoes?

Something else must have happened with your brakes Dick. I've had many pre-30's cars and trucks with steel or cast drums, long before bonded, (or molded) linings were even invented. If the brakes...

Re: this is what I drug home yesterday- not Ford

Very nice!! Yes, a '30 opera coupe. Last year for the straight 6, 1931's were a straight 8's AND they put synchros in transmission's 2nd & 3rd gear in '31. I had a '30 4 door series 40. Your Buick...

Re: Does your Model A overheat ?

Did anyone notice the gas tanks don't appear to be exploded in the picture? They must have had their "flame arresters" in place.

Re: 16" Wheels

My '31 half ton looks kinda funny with small,'35 Ford wires on it. That's what was on it when it came out of long storage, as it was a brush painted, fixed up WW-ll era workhorse. I was told 19"...

Re: Model A insurance coverage

I would think so. A call is cheap and fast to your insurer. Have your insurance policy at hand. Most of us have a deductible on the parts/repairs, so you would have to figure out first how bad the...

Re: What type of nails do I use to attach the body to the wood

They are the small round head nails, .165" diameter head and 11/16ths" long. I believe any of the parts catalogs have them in boxes of 100.

Re: convert to LED headlights

My headlamps are LogoLites. All other came from a different vendor. I've rewired and ran separate ground years ago when I was refreshing this old truck. Also I see where my tail lamps flicker a bit...

Re: convert to LED headlights

I switched over to all LED's in the A, I do like the very low amp draw now at night. I hear that the Logo Lights are actually 8-12 volts, so at low RPM's or a low setting on 3rd brush, the lights...

The Train Collectors Association, (TCA), is another well respected organization John. It does cover all makes, but Lionel is a large part I've seen. I collect pre-war Lionel O gauge and 1920's Ives...

Re: Radiator leaking

My option would be to pull core out and repair it, or have it repaired by a radiator shop. I suggest not pouring in any stop leak just yet. Without seeing it myself, sounds like an easy fix where the...

Re: Car Stopped Running

You may want to do this; Make a small 90 degree angle bracket with 3 holes; one for the toggle switch and two for the existing terminal box mounting screws that hold the bracket. Install the switch...
