That explains why I haven't seen any more narrow than the width of the coolant boss. I've not worked on any before Feb 29. Most of the changes were within the 1st 13-months of production.

Ford didn't make a lot of changes to the engine block during it's normal production run. Most of the blocks I've seen have a stamping boss the same width as the coolant port boss just below it. If...
