I am looking for the lower half of a Tillotson X carb. Need one that is not warped and with the jets and nozzel free, with good threads and tight throttle plate. In short one that is in great shape....

I think they are great improvements. I like to tour too, and have done a lot of modifications to make touring easier. Most of which cannot be seen unless you know what you are looking for.

The V-8 king pins have the notch of the lock bolt in a different place. You must have ones made for a Model A spindle. Of course you can change the spindles, but I would rather not go to that expense.
