Re: Alternator hidden in a generator case?

Power master seems to be the go to for this. A new one came with my rebuilt engine but I gave it away. I kept my 52 f-1 6v and just decided to stick with a FOMOCO generator. The truck is wired with...

Re: Radio repair

I had an experience using a digital converted radio in my 52 truck that didn't like the reproduction spark plug wires from Dennis Carpenter. Not any ignition suppression in them, the Bluetooth/USB...

Re: Installing a wiring harness

I would estimate $4,000 in labor to replace all wiring harnesses in the car.

Re: 1951 Ford, runs fine then runs bad.

I will take a shot here. You are saying the amp meter is going down; to me that means that the generator isn't charging the battery. Your car is shutting off cause you're running off of your battery...

Doesn't Rob Flicken the Wiper Man sell them or perform them for very little cost?

Re: radio won't fit

What I did on my 52 F-1 was I had an original radio which had a huge heavy chassis to it with all the original tubes and other components in it, well that all got taken out and replaced with digital...

Re: 1949 Ford F1 oil cap

By the way since we’re talking about this isn’t there filter material inside the cap that is supposed to be changed? How is that accessible? And what is the purpose of the filter material just to...

Well if you like restomods and I personally don’t, but if a rich sugga momma said that I have one I guess Jonathan Ward’s $400k “derelicts” would suit me just fine! . Most of his...

Re: Correct paint color for engine parts

I don't see how they painted all those engines and there's not one drop of paint on the floor?

Re: A jailbar woodie on Bring a Trailer

I wouldn't buy it just based on the one photograph of the phillips screws holding the data tag to the fire wall. That's enough right there to set me on my heels, but thats just me.

Re: I cut open the Ford Scrip battery case

How many different suppliers or makers are there of Ford script batteries? Are they all the same quality? We're all just saying "Ford Script Batteries" like there's only one place that they are all...

Re: Is this normal?

I paid USA $7,500 last year for a rebuilt turn-key stock flathead with a 4" crank- no speed parts from a nationally known reputable shop, thats with a core charge of $1,000. Seems like the going...

Re: Should I convert from 6 volts to 12 volts

Yes, and if you already have a digital converted radio they are often set up to run 12v, even if the vehicle is still 6v, with a built in converter, so its only a matter of adding a USB connection...

Re: Correct paint color for engine parts

I believe the color is the same as trucks for 52, Lincoln Mercury LIGHT Green. Main pulley and all those other parts you listed in black. But water pumps in engine color. Some people told me that the...

Re: Cutting a Ford Scrip Battery to remove the Optima Battery

Curious why you would want to do that? I have one and it works well. They're supposed to be really good batteries. What kind of trouble are you having with it? Do you want to use the case for...

Re: Led Bulbs

That looks really cool! Is it hooked up to the car’s wiring or brake switch or is it independent;does it just sense motion change?

Led being no better or slightly worse than the 6v original bulb was the same conclusion my friend reached with his 36 coupe. Frank you know who you are ! Seems the led doesn’t really radiate light...

Re: Who makes the best new 1953 Ford carburetor

I had a new carb installed a DC type but from Chucks Trucks LLC in CT. It runs great. The old one got progressively worse and worse every time it went to the rebuilder. Never tried Charlie but I...

Re: Recomended spark plug wires

Original looks nice in my opinion . At some point around this time they switched to a water proof ignition and had the rubber boot on the plugs.

Re: Cowl lights on 33 pickup?

If you like the look put them on.. it’s certainly period correct if not factory and likely an owner back then could have put them on if they needed the extra light.

I think any modern performance set would do that. I know when I switched from a common supplied set to the DC FOMOCO branded ones that’s when I had troubles with my radio. It was an Aurora digital...
