That was my concern, that is why I used the product I used. If you cut it 1/8" larger the the vertical surface it will stay in place on its own. As you can see my only experience is with a CCPU, cars...

It's not glued, just lies on top of the floorboards with the floor mat placed on it.
Don't be fooled by the glare from my LED light the firewall is a black ABS insulated panel....

I was just getting ready to cut four inches out of mine. I had to put a bunch of towels on my firewall getting the engine out. If you had to do it again would you go 14" or 15"?

This is the situation I find myself in. Two weeks ago I sent my block off to Rich at Antique Engine Restoration for inserts. He informed me that the GAZ block weighed approximately 35 lbs more...

Here are the pictures I spoke of earlier. The firewall is an insulated ABS unit from one of the vendors and is black not silver, don't mind the LED glare.

Don't be fooled by any contact cement, if you want it to last this is what the pros use.
