Re: 28 battery box

Quoted from above:
"I missed that in the standards. It’s interesting now reading it that is says my forged bracket was stopped in August. My car is a mid September ‘28 or late September car and...

Re: 28 battery box

I would recommend that you take the original battery support assembly , remove what is left of the lower flat tray, buy a new flat tray with a single drain hole in the center, and have someone spot...

Re: New Member---'28 Model A Mods----help!

The rear drum that you have pictured is an early '28 single brake drum and unfortunately will not fit the wheel(s) that you have pictured. As mentioned above, the edge of the wheel hub must seat...

Re: Swap meet etiquette / Luray

I have actually found some of my best purchases at non-Model A vendors. Several years ago at Hershey, I was scouring the Red field and came upon a vendor selling beautifully restored early car brass...

Re: Early 28 model A roadster question.

Yes, the panel above the rumble lid is way too curved. The profile should match the top of the lid.

Re: Tulare swap Report

I attended and picked up a couple of really cool early 28 items. I mostly stayed around our swap space on Saturday selling as the crowds were pretty constant. I haven't added everything up yet but...

Re: Don Bivens has Passed today!!

Don's passing is indeed a tremendous loss to the Model A community. His history, research, and knowledge of the Model A and Ford's production methods were unmatched. Don's machining abilities were...

Re: Do early 1928 wheels interchange with other years?

There will be a swap meet, "Swap-O-Rama" on Saturday, May 1st at the International Agri-Center in Tulare, CA. I'm told that they are expecting a lot of the pre-war vendors from the Bakersfield Swap...

Re: Upholstery Question

There's more to it than simply ordering the fabric and asking a commercial shop to "make" an interior. You will need the patterns for the headliner, door and side panels, and seats. There's a lot...

Re: Max Speed of a Model A in Stock Form

I used to drive my stock late '31 Roadster at 65 on open highways. It actually ran really smooth at that speed but 55 was optimal for it.

Re: Oshkosh MARC National ???

Yes, but pulling a trailer across the dessert and through traffic means that I need to be extra careful. Plus, I don't like to drive at night while towing. I think that my Ford F250 Super Duty can...

Re: Oshkosh MARC National ???

Dennis, it will take me 4 to 5 days pulling a trailer. I would think that you would want to allow at least 7 to 8 days, depending on the route you take and what you want to stop and see along the...

Re: Oshkosh MARC National ???

I recommend that you attend this meet, especially since it is in the mid-west. You will learn more from the members attending than you would at any other car show. Model A folks are more than happy...
