The weight then rests on the washer on the end of the kingpin. I know they did it that way but I will do it my way, even on street machines.

Yea, I knew I would get some flak on that. Put the felt on the bottom and it won't last very long with the weight of the car on it.

The bearing goes on the bottom of the axle so the weight of the car rests on it. The felt goes on top of the axle to keep dirt out.
If the parts don't fit, get the right ones or fix them till they...

Here is a water distribution system that works very good on race cars. No reason it will not work on a street machine. The coolant flows reverse from normal.

Believe it or not, those guys (not the vintage film) can go for 3 or 4 race programs without a dent. A whole different mindset when you are racing for fun.
