transmission case lube

Any one notice the subtle changes to the rear of the trans case to add more lube to the rear bearing.
I had a 35 case and a later one(pictured) on my bench together and the later one has a scollop...

and you need to set the points with the assembly installed in the housing, coil on and adjustment screw tightened

Vincent, let me know when you are ready to install the new gears, I have done just this on my 33 a year or so back and have the number of an o ring that fits into the recess for the housing cork...

You also have to make sure it’s for a RHD car, I bought a no’s one, had it o/hauled, it works great ,BUT parks in the middle of the screen.

38 coupe, our 33 has a 260ci 99a engine with a stock 99a era cam ,the bottom one on my graph, our 33 has a 3.78 rear and spend most of its time touring, towing the c/van(we are away in it for two...

From experience,PAY particular attention to the brand of the bearings.if no brand,DONT use them .I will only use NOS ford ones or a recognised brand ,timken etc. some times I put. a spacer in-between...

38 coupe, I too used the stock factory cams, but on my latest spare engine I'm using an EAC cam.
Or if using an earlier eng the stock 32-33 steel cam is very good.

Yep you have to be careful on roundabouts in the wet in the 33 .with firestones, its way more loose than our 28ccpu.

Try EGGE machine, they make a nice thin ring piston for the A.
And you can get total seal rings for them.

Gramps, The cam with 327 lift has EAC-A stamped on the dist end.
the other stock one has 91A on the cam between the lobes and L stamped on the dist end.

I'm building a spare engine that is 276 ,I had to sleeve one cylinder as the block was bad on that cylinder,(C69a)
Looking out a better cam for it ,I checked a few in my pile, I have a nearly new...
