You can drill a hole in the shaft and thread it with right hand threads or left hand and use a new screw. Take it to your friendly machine shop and have it done correctly. About $10 bucks is...

The mounting bracket on the left was never a model a horn bracket. The one on the right is the correct one for a model a ford horn.

I have removed the top of the carb in the morning to check for leak down, There were full fuel in the carb. This is what has puzzled all of us here. Many thanks guys for your help.

31Tudor is correct. Also, the mounting bracket and the bug screen were raven finished as well.

These items were not painted and should not be today.
