Re: Jerky Runner
Thanks, good information.
I use no crap gas in my rigs and that seems to work out great. So I think in the future I do need to use the MMO as you mentioned. Because I do leave my rigs in the shop...

Re: Jerky Runner
Well I took the old jerky runner out for a drive today. About 2 weeks after the MMO treatment in the cylinders. It started better than it ever did, after warming up (46 degrees around here today)...

Re: Jerky Runner
I also think I need to change the engine oil after this situation because I did put a liberal amount of MMO in the spark holes. I am sure a lot of it got in the engine oil. Maybe that is good for...

Re: Jerky Runner
Mark, the MMO idea sounds good. Will have to do. But I think the parades may go. Hard on the old rig, clutch etc. So think I will watch parades instead of being in them!

Re: Jerky Runner
Well back in Aug of 2018, I started this post about my jerky 29 coupe. Guess what, here it is Sept 2019 and I have the same problem. Same situation, ran it is 4th of July parade, let it set until...

Re: Timing/Spark control arm
On my two "29" A's, the spark lever notch arms seem to be different. One is much longer than the other. Is this the difference between a 28/29 and a 30/31? I think maybe my 29 std coupe may have a...

Re: Where to start?
BTW Les Andrews book 1 is a good one to get. It gives you basic stuff about an A. Most arts vendors carry it.

Re: Wheel painting
I have done both methods of painting, powder and paint. Like mentioned, I think I like the paint idea better that the powder because it can be redone when needed. But both my rigs are drivers so...

Re: Distributor help
I agree. Replace the distributor. Sounds like you need a different one. You can buy good ones on Ebay or Bert's have very good rebuilt ones.

Re: Swapping engines, any tips?
If you also swap out the transmission, make sure the rear part that bolts onto the rear end is the same as the one you took out. There are two different ones with different holes in them.

Re: Map software
Better check out your GPS reception for where you plan to go unless you use the "old" maps from AAA.

Re: Brake adjustment - Frustration
If your bakes are in good condition, then you have a chance of getting a fairly good adjustment. I am no expert on this subject but what I do is with the wheels off the floor with jack stands under...

Based on what little I know about this problem, but it sure seems like this is the solution. It has been mentioned above also.

I have a Harbor Freight one that I made a bracket for to hold my engine. Worked great. Think I saw one on their adds for 50 or 60 bucks.
