My '46 has the end of the center trim strip covering the bottom gap. The rear view mirror bracket is attached to the top and covers the top gap.

I just recently lubed my brake cable. I slowly squirted a good dose of Lock-Ease down the sheath until it was dripping out the end. The carrier evaporates and leaves the graphite coating inside....

I want to install a set of tailgate hook retaining springs. Not sure how they are supposed to be orientated. Can someone explain or show a photo of how these are intended to be installed?

Backfiring can also be associated with an intermittent loss of voltage in the ignition system somewhere. May want to check wire connections and a possible wire rub through to the body. A while back...
