Looking for my car's previous owner
This is a complete shot in the dark, but I don't know of a better place to start looking.
The car was purchased from a gentleman in Florida who had some connection with Callaway Gardens, I...

Re: Brake lining replacement
Does this mean marry the pads to the shoes and then sand the pad to where it fits the drum perfectly? Does any kind of sand paper work for this, or am I looking for something more specialized? I'm...

Brake lining replacement
This is a task I've never tackled before, but since the shoes are in good condition, I don't see any reason to completely replace them.
What are some MUSTS when replacing woven brake linings?

General degreasing - any recommendations?
While I've got the head off and the car in the middle of some repairs, I want to also give a really good degreasing to clean it up and also help to identify if/where there are any oil leaks.

Use WD40 to suspend crud in cylinders for removal
The title may sound a bit weird - basically what I'm trying to learn is whether it's safe to use WD-40 in the heads/cylinders as a medium for breaking off and suspending stuck on funk in the cylinder...

Re: Starter motor fuse?
That was actually one of the diagrams I found. The one I've used primarily is this one:http://www.webjunk.com/modela/wp-content/uploads/2008/02/wiring-diagramcolor2sm.jpg

Ahh, okay. I am definitely going to fuse basically everything this time around. I really like the idea of a basic manual battery disconnect.

Wiring harness - LENGHTS
So I am on the verge of completely replacing the wiring in our '31 Cabriolet (with cowls).
I found a diagram with all of the wiring information (colors, etc) BUT no information on lengths.

Re: "Sticky" ignition
Definitely "up" for timing. I am now trying to remember if that's right about how I start it. It's one of those things that I've done so many times, it's second nature. But I think we keep it...

"Sticky" ignition
I'll see if I can describe "sticky ignition" the best I can. First off, car is a '31 Cabriolet all original engine, etc., etc., etc. Just so we're clear on what hardware we're working with here.
