Re: Western WA shops

Not really sure how western WA could possibly mean Washington DC, or western VA. Yes, I mean western Washington state.

Good afternoon,
Any recommendations for a reputable shop in western WA? Looking to get my motor and tranny rebuilt, along with some other work. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks.

Re: Jet Sizes( stock 59 A-B, single carb)

Is it common for the idle circuit screws to only need to be about half to 3/4 turns out?

Jet Sizes( stock 59 A-B, single carb)

Good morning everyone,

What's everyone running for jet sizes at given elevation? I'm pretty much sea level, between 200 and 300. Mostly interested in stock, single carb (Holley 94) motors. Trying...

Re: Lower radiator hose options.

I ended up making my own hoses out of stock 41 hoses. Shortened the section between the bends and coupled it with 3" piece of exhaust pipe, trimmed the ends a bit. Attaching a pic of the my...

Re: Lower radiator hose options.

Since I already have 2 hoses for a stock 41 set up, which pretty much looks like what 19Fordy shows in his pics, I may try to modify those. Just need to take out about 4" from between the bends of...

Lower radiator hose options.

Hello everyone,

Got a 41coupe with a 46-48 59 A-B motor. I'm in a process of refreshing the cooling system. Little problem I ran into is getting lower rad hoses that fit or can be trimmed down to...

Re: Oil in coolant

That's what I was thinking. Gaskets for a sealed bearing pumps, which I believe I have seal off the oil feed hole which is no longer needed. With the hopes that the gasket failed I'm going to get new...

Re: Oil in coolant

Are the holes I'm pointing to the holes that would have had the purpose of oiling the bushing on the original style pumps? I'm pretty sure I have the updated sealed bearing pumps. Seems like the pump...

Re: Oil in coolant

I noticed the radiator is starting to develop some small leaks. Since I took it out in order to create more working space for pump removal I figured it would be a good time to have it refreshed....

Re: Anybody in NC?

Thank you all. Appreciate the responses and help. My wife's grandfather who built the car back in the 80s was a member. We kept all of his old copies of V8 Times and trophies he won with the car back...

Re: Oil in coolant

New for the car. I check the coolant regularly, pretty much before every start up, along with oil. Never noticed it before. Pretty sure it was oil, black spots floating in the coolant looking through...

Oil in coolant

Hello

I got some oil in the coolant after last time I drove the car. It's a 41 with a 46-48 59 AB Merc 100HP motor. Is there any chance a failed water pump gasket would allow some oil to get...

Re: Car doesn't want to run after carb rebuild

@ deuce roadster

Checked and tested the float, it's operation and setting. I'm fairly confident it was the pump pushing too much pressure. Charlie NY will be doing his magic on my pumps. I'm...

As far as fuel pumps go. Does anyone know where I can get one that will work like it's suppose to? Or someone that properly rebuilds them.

Re: Car doesn't want to run after carb rebuild

So to give everyone an update. I took the carb apart again and switched back to the old power valve. Comparing the new one and the old one, it felt like the new one has a bit stiffer spring in it....

Re: Car doesn't want to run after carb rebuild

I'll pull the carb off and go through it again. Float was moving freely, and I didn't change it since the car was running pretty good before the carb rebuild, I think I put everything back correctly....

Re: Car doesn't want to run after carb rebuild

I'll take it apart and have it again. Can you recommend a replacement power valve? I'm 99% positive I installed it correctly with right size gasket. Is there a way to test it before I try to replace...
