Thanks. Just wondering if it might be related to carbon build-up in the combustion chamber. The plugs were pretty sooty.

Frosty intake manifold

Was working on a friend's car (which was running poorly) and noticed that the intake manifold frosted-up when the car was first started. Frost stayed there for quite a while till the engine was good...

I can jump-start it, and the engine starts and runs fine. Have never driven more than about 45 minutes. After initial start, I can get another start or two. After that, starter begins to turn over...

6 volt generator output

Working on a '39 Mercury which doesn't hold a battery charge too well, and wondering what the generator output should be. Guessing around 7 volts? Thanks.
