Re: 1932 The Deuce, Dually, Dump Truck

Hey Chris,

Glad to hear Cheryl is doing well after the stroke scare. Went to the funeral home for a friend and neighbor last night who died from strokes/heart issues, so it is indeed scary.

Re: Back end of a T-5

GB, Great thinking on the indexing method for your adapter plate. I can see the value of that, by centering the transmission with respect to the engine.

Re: Model A Marine Engine?

A friend of mine had a Grand Banks trawler from the '50's. It was equipped with two Lehman diesels of about 100 hp each. They were good powerplants.

Re: 276 stroker from 35 years of parts

GB, I remember the chicken coop story as well. It reminds me of my Grandad Sam's near miss with his old truck. Dad and my brother and I were tearing down an old house for the lumber in '63. I was...

Re: I need to pull the speedometer Head from the dash...

Look under the dash at the speedo back. You should see a keeper setup which if removed will allow the speedo to come out the front.

Re: Model A no spark

You probably have a very poor connection somewhere, probably the switch or a ground. Try bypassing the switch like someone suggested, with a jumper directly to the battery, or to a known good...

Re: 2024 video releases from Mart's Garage. All in this one thread.

Hi Mart, Good detective work on that old Holley carb. I hope to see you get it going properly on all four barrels. I'm running a 600 Holley in my car that looks pretty similar. Do you know what...

Re: Pumper truck

My grandad who lived in Bandana, Ky had one of those old trucks in his front yard for a few years. My uncle/his son had been a fire chief and the truck was retired/replaced. I think it was a 1954...

Summit Racing has the Bob Drake motor mount cushions in stock. 78-6038-K is what they list them as.

Re: Lake pipes

My '48 has lake pipes and measure about 60". But to extend the full length of the rocker panel they would need to be about 72". Your wheelbase may be a few inches longer, but I think 72" would be...

Re: My 33 BB Truck

Great truck! It appears to be a flathead V8, does that make it a BB or a V8?

Re: Troubleshooting Transmission '47 pickup

GB, I installed an S-10 T5 in my '48 sedan behind a non-flathead engine several years ago. I bought a transmission mount for mine, but it needed modification. I think it was made for a '40 frame. ...

Re: Looking for a machine shop

VicPiano of Tampa/Orlando (Cigar City Flatheads) might be a good contact. He's apparently not an engine builder as such but probably knows good people to recommend.

Re: 1950 Ford kingpin lock pin

Nick,

Of course you will need to remove the nut first, which should be on the front side of the kingpin. It should be obvious at that point.

Re: Hard time starting with electric starter, easy with crank

Re: Hard time starting with electric starter, easy with crank

Hey Bud,

Welcome to the barn! If your engine is not spinning over very well, it probably means you either have a weak starter and or battery. If it is, it is probably a bad ground or connection...

Re: Ford Script Battery

OldGold,

You might do a search on Fordbarn. Someone did a DIY install in a original battery case a few months back. That is if you can find a case. They should be available.
