Re: 40 Front clip removal

I would pull the hood first and then decide if it is worthwhile and necessary to remove the whole clip.

Re: Cam bearing

If your new bearings have the notches, install the same as the ones removed (I would not install notches in the bearing)
As previously stated the notches were probably to provide oil to any thrust...

Re: 1950 Ford Passenger Car Hood Latch

Keep in mind that you are not trying to bend the spike but the sheet metal that it is attached to.
And yes. there is a possibility that the spring is weak.
To rectify weak spring, suitable...

Re: Lincoln door buttons in a 47 Ford

Having installed Lincoln push buttons on at least 2 vehicles back when it was fashionable, none were done on pre-1949 vehicles.
Generally '48 and earlier car handles used a rotary motion of the...

Re: 1950 Ford Passenger Car Hood Latch

Generally the latch has little to do with hood alignment.
The spring loaded spike can be adjusted to correct most problems but sometime it is necessary to adjust the radiator core support.

Re: Lincoln door buttons in a 47 Ford

Instead of trying to turn one mechanical action into another mechanical action.

Re: 1940 Ford Dash parts ID

First you have to determine what thread size they are.
They look like either 12/24 or 1/4-20 carriage bolts. (pressed or fused in place)
The 1/4-20 carriage bolts are readily available in most...

Re: Bent Horn-Light Rod

You should not be trying equate straightening an aluminum arrow whether solid or tubular with straightening a thin wall steel tube.
Have straightened similar steel tubing in the past using a heat...

Re: 1939 Ford Deluxe Center Piece

Does indeed look like aftermarket.
In order to have parts fit together the holes will have to be elongated as required.

Re: Unusual 1940 Deluxe grille

A picture of the outside of the grille will generally not tell you anything but the backside will show how pieces were welded and attached together to make the assembly.
In the early days...

Re: 49 master cylinder

Seem to recall that a number of years ago a conversion kit supplier offered a master cylinder with outlets on both sides to allow easier fitting of outlet tubes.
The unused ones were plugged....

Re: Shoebox Front Suspension Control Arms

The inners should be OK
The outer ones are a different story.
They each serve a different function.
The upper one corrects camber by moving in and out on an eccentric.

The lower one adjusts...

Re: Stromberg Big 97 on a stock manifold?

Re: Stromberg Big 97 on a stock manifold?

Re: Engine cowl louver reattachment
