pry -pull lockbolt out/up enough to pry splined retaining collar off
push lockbolt thru toggle switch ring assembly into column mast space
remove toggle ring...

SN prefix 18 denotes 221 ci v8 32-42 (81 series 1938-1942) There were also v8s
239 ci & v8 60s in 1940--in trucks--yes v8 60 hp in trucks.

Andy; Line of sight across the flat of key aligns with column.
The key lock cylinder retaining pin is also an alignment pin.
It appears that the cylinder may have rotated out...

Lock cylinder rotates 180 degrees---key flat -alines with column , locked & unlocked.

USA green book shows different drop for "122" wheelbase & 'non' "122"'
meaning to me longer -- "134" , "158" ."194" drops.

This 41 drop is passenger car. Are you trying to get parts for your 1.5 t truck drop?
Lube the lock cylinder well & tap wiggle in & out on cyl face & angled forward

pan to be sure of LB).
