Gas tank

Am not confident with my fuel gauge. Would like to make a stick with inches. Would I hit the float sticking it, do you put anything on the stick to see the fuel level and how many gallons per inch

I need a new battery and my local auto store has one. My question is should I buy it there or go to a farm supply store that sells more 6 volt batteries and do they have a date code on them.

I tested my starter with new jumper cables and it’s good. I believe my original problem was my starter switch. There was no grommet on the firewall and the starter rod went through a 1 inch diameter...

My last post was about a starter switch. I rebuilt that and wanted to check the starter before I put it back on. My cables are bad and couldn’t try it so I took the starter out and brought it home....

My starter rod has no spring. I would think that has nothing to do with the bendix stuck

Actually last year I put it up on jack stands drained the transmission and rear filled with transmission fluid started it up and ran through the gears. When spring came did the same thing, drained...

Spring start up

While still jacked up is it ok to start up and idle till it heats up. It’s not where I live and before taking it down I check the fluids and grease it.

Used a 10 inch adjustable wrench while hitting it with a hammer. I’m surprised it’s so tight because there’s oil dripping off of the plug. I think I’ll wipe it down good heat the plug then try a pipe...

The fill plug loosened easily but the drain plug even with some oil dripping off of it won’t loosen.

Fuel line

Line from fuel bowl to carburetor is 1/4 inch. Looking at replacement parts they don’t mention size. Is 1/4 correct or should it be 3/8

I want to thank everyone for their help. I called the seller and he said they didn't touch the battery and looking at a video they made the amp was charging so I'm leaving it negative ground.

Disconnected the ground and it did the same thing. Charged and then said the battery was bad. I'll look to see if the red coil wire goes to the distributor.
