Berts sells a head stud that has a bigger base and a standard upper . it can be used to repair a block without drilling the head.

I have used restaurant degreaser available at home depot in 30gallon garbage can. It is a one gallon concentrate. Placed an engine block in it waited a few days and hosed it off.

If it does it again , place your hand on coil and check if it is hot. Defective coils act like that, also check the battery cables. Could be both.

DNL, I have had this happen before. A trick on the road is to turn the coil over ,wait 5 minutes and fire her up. Oil cools the coil when primary wire points up. You will need a longer coil to...

David R, I have used a Bronze rear main thrust washer from Berts. Part #6336 a little pricey but works well.

Sounds like a dry bushing. Oil front and back bearings of generator. Also grease water pump. Good Luck

Working on a fiends Model T , the #4 rod cap was not seated but was torqued tight. It had a slight knock. Reset it and lightly tapped all rod caps for the same sound. T runs great.
