That is what I thought, I would venture to say a good number of cars never came near rolling over 999,000. Modern cars rarely do that and we do much more incidental driving than in those days, I...

Just curious, how many miles do think your A has travelled since it rolled off the assembly line? Cars certainly would not have annual mileage as we have today, and certainly as the years rolled by...

Although I was sent a photo asking if the interior door panel was what I wanted. It was taken on a vehicle. I asked for a photo of both sides, off the car, ready to ship . Silence, no further contact.

Good idea, I now have in hand an original switch which actually has a hole thru the shaft as if to nstall a cotter pin. Any one see this on any other original switches?

That would be between the cardboard panel and the upholstery. The door bezel seems to not allow any space for padding and even installing over fabric would be a tight fit
