The carburetor is leaking fuel and I've never pulled the air filter housing off...still learning

Shoebox Air Filter question (beginner level)

Does the filter sit in oil all the time or only when the car is running? I need to pull it off and I want to avoid making a mess unnecessarily.

What brand tank/cap is everyone going with? My goal would be a solution that I could remove (I don't want to drill any holes). Pics would be great.

Yes Sir that’s it…for clear coated cars it works great…I use a clay mit before I apply it…I need to do more research on non-clear coated cars…my ‘50 will only see sunny days so the set it and forget...

The spray on stuff that I use (Griots) is supposed to last about 3 mos...the product that is applied with an applicator 5-7 years

I use the Griots Ceramic Spray on everything else...thinking about getting the car detailed/ceramic once it's back from the shop for it's spring debut (only took 30 years)...wasn't sure if there was...

I do have some extra material from the top but I’m not sure it is enough for a boot…matching the interior brown would be interesting too…the local NOVA club sent me a number of good upholsterer...

1950 Convertible Boot Top

I've looked everywhere in my Early V-8 Club book for the correct Boot Top color but I can't find it. The top is Grey-Tan and the current Boot Top matches the Sundland Beige exterior, but I'd prefer...

good points...the US Radiators are copper and brass so that's good

it's very humid here...heat soak in any car is terrible during the hot months not that I'll be taking it out in peak sun...I need...
