Re: Opinion on a 36LB motor

Lawrie, all's good here. Sounds like a fun trip coming up in your '33. I'm hoping to put some miles on my '35 fordor this year. Will most likely drive it to Franklin, Tenn in June for the EFV-8...

Re: Opinion on a 36LB motor

I agree that the best/safest way to ID a USA '36 LB engine is to measure center to center distance between the mains studs. LB = ~ 3-1/4", poured babbitt = ~ 3"
None of the '36 LB engines that I own...

Re: 1937 Torque Tube

That sounds like a good method that I will try.
I had asked the question here on how to remove the center tt bearing some years ago, and was told to drive it out using a section wooden broom...

Re: Opinion on a 36LB motor

Even though I own several '36, 21 stud LB engines, I'd personally rather have a '37 block over a '36 LB in my '35 drivers. A '37, early '38, 21 stud block is much more versatile, and can be built...

Re: Advice, comments, suggestions?

I'm also not a big fan of using those adaptor plates on top of helmet distributors, and a remote mounted coil. You might want to consider getting an original type coil that mounts on top of...

Re: Something to ponder - Hershey 2022

Luckily I have family living about a half hour from Hershey and they have always invited me to stay with them while I attend the meet. The extra bonus for me is I get to spend time with my twin...

Re: 36-39 frame brackets

Me either...I didn't know Karl was reproducing these frame brackets....

Karl, how do I do an order for a pair of '35-'36 frame brackets? I'm guessing I go to your web site to order?

I need to...

Re: '35 4 Door Hump Query

The banjo steering wheel was not introduced until '36, and would not be considered show correct on '35's, although it will certainly fit and look good on any '35. Also, there was only one windshield...

Re: Is it OK to lift a '39 Ford using frame lift

I've lifted these early Ford's many times using lifts that have extending arms that locate under the main frame rails.
Locate lift pads as rockfla suggests....in the four strengthened areas where...

Re: The Early Ford V8 Club of America - Application Form.

Pat, you and your car would be most welcomed in the Early Ford V-8 Club. Many of our members own cars that are not 100% original and have some modifications like your '38 has. Would be great to meet...

Re: DISTRIBUTOR GUIDE PINS (Helmet and Crab style)

I also made mounting pins by cutting the heads off of bolts that have the correct size threads. I use two mounting pins to align my '35 distributor on the front of engine. Then slowly turn the rotor...

Re: Book on 60HP engine. Out of print. Author unknown

I've discussed the possibilities of reprinting of this book with Marty Willim, Richard's son, several times on Facebook and also here on Fordbarn. I feel that Marty has no plans of having his Dad's...
