Or your outer bearing cone has been spinning on your stub and has worn your stub od. If you quietly “snug” up the bearing nut and you still have the movement, remove the bearing and check that area,...

I went a different route, as both pedals and shaft wear, the shaft was more so and badly only on thrust side,bushing the pedals is only half the task.
I just minimally reamed and honed the pedal...

I just did it 3 years ago with an engine that had not run since 78.
Fired it dry, had oil in the sump which was super clean on the dip stick, it only ran on 3 for a few seconds and I shut it down....

I just screwed mine down until there was no movement in the balls then a bit further to get the splitpin in. Been working fine.

Your fan hub fits (or should) fit tightly on the tapered shaft.
The nut snugs it up on the taper but only when it can’t fit on any further. It sounds like you are pulling it up against an end float...

Thanks Old Ugly, but I found the problem being the baffle and slinger had been fit on either side of the bearing,opposed to both on the clutch side of the bearing.
Inside the bellhousing the slinger...

Hi,
Would anyone have a good parts drawing to suit a multi plate clutch gearbox?
Mainly the input shaft area as mine has a bit to much endfloat( when I depress the clutch I can see the shaft moves...
