The Service Bulletins page 337, April 1929, mention the new control assembly design.

No mention is made of the firewall cutout/notch.

Looking in the Judging Standards (1-17) I see what you mean. The earlier assemblies had the foot rod more vertical, instead of having that curve that engaged the hand throttle linkage.

I took this when I first brought my 29 ccpu home.

Looks about the same as yours.

Maybe that's the way they were?

This is a nearly six year old thread.....

The problem was solved and the hole repaired six years ago.

The panel adhesive worked just fine and is holding up perfectly.

Five years and still no issues.....maybe 2500 miles?

The catch is, it's sort of expensive, comes in a two part cartridge and requires a special dispenser.

I went and found the old blocks.

The blocks that fit at the rear of the cab have only one hole....so only one bolt.

Pictures are of a reproduction set, my old set, and the rear cab blocks by...

So I started looking through pictures of when I first brought the ccpu home and was cleaning it up.

Lots of debris under the seat......but this is a picture of the rear of the cab after it was...

So I took a couple pictures.

The two bolts seen from below in post #8, are at the back wall of the cab behind the seat. (You will notice that this is a different ccpu from the one in post 8.)

Here is the way I did it...as yet untested though...

The condenser is attached to one of the cowl seam bolts, and the flag end is loose for now, but the idea is to slip it under the nut that holds...

I recently installed a Pertronix 40111 1.5 ohm epoxy coil and the ccpu has never run better.....

I like it so much I got one for my '51 CJ-3a.....it too runs great...
