Each car is different and I only have experience with my own, but during a cold start, if I keep the choke out for more than one revolution it is too rich and will die. Starts immediately otherwise...

I tried the 5/16 eye-bolt method and straightened the eyes out without bending the shifter!! Will a regular propane torch be hot enough or is acetylene required?

My horn was intermittent. I removed the light switch at the base of the steering column and wiped oil off of the round contact area between the switch and horn rod. It work fine now.

I have a heat shield mounted on the exhaust over the muffler. The rear mount broke and it made a strange noise/resonance until I discovered and repaired it.

I thought I read somewhere that the axle could properly be installed either way, but I certainly could be wrong.

I do have Firestone tires, but I'm thinking that if the turn stop nuts were on the back side of the axle as they should be, this wouldn't have happened.

Rosin core for electrical. Acid core is used for plumbing. Lead or lead-free will work. Lead-free has a slightly higher melting temperature.

Thanks Tom. I'm prepared to make the adapter. It's the ability to get the nuts behind the panel for the attaching bolts that concern me. Hopefully the "U" nuts will facilitate that.
