Re: Winfield 59 cam in a street engine

Update on full specs on a Winfield 3/4 regrind.

Forgot to mention earlier that the lift numbers I gave are net lift as in taking into account lash. That is how Ed Winfield gave specs, net lift,...

Re: Winfield 59 cam in a street engine

You have a genuine Winfield cam. You can tell this by uniform block lettered stamping of the "WINFIELD" which is smaller than the numbers stamped below the distributor drive slot. It is his 3/4...

Re: Winfield 59 cam in a street engine

From what you describe so far, this is not a genuine Winfield cam and the 59 means nothing along with if there is a 5T on it. What makes you think it is a Winfield cam? It is most likely a copy. A...

Re: Fiber or Aluminum

Does anyone still sell new aluminum press on gears or do you just have to search and hope to find a good used one or a NOS one?

The reason...

Identifying Early 21 Stud Flathead Motors

Is there an easy way to tell the difference between the 32/33 motors and the later 34-37 21 stud motors? Did all 21 stud motors have water pumps in the heads? Which 21 stud motors came with...

Re: Cam Techniques Closing

Scheider Cams has a Flathead grind that is very similar to the L-100. Scheider's calls theirs an S-100. When I spoke with them over the phone about it, they said that they cannot grind it on a stock...

Was there a particular application for the mechanical advance limits for the 40B (16 deg. of advance @ 2500 rpm) vs. the 11a (24 deg. of advance @ 2500 rpm)? Was the 40B the very first one, say in...

Re: Almquist 500 R camshaft

Mark,

Judging by the rust pits in the close up photo of the lobes, the cam is only good for wall art. The profile could be copied from one of the lobes that is not rusty (if there is a lobe that...

Markings on Flathead V8 Isky Cams

Does anyone have any pictures of the markings on a genuine Isky Flathead V8 cam? I was trying to determine if a cam is a reground copy by someone else or if it was a cam originally done by Isky. So...

Also would like the know the duration at...
