A minor point, if you try to run the engine with the transmission top off, the transmission oil will cover the inside of the car. You don't want to do this.

Vern, check your other posting, I use a 1/4 inch punch with a flat face to smash the lead ball in each corner. Needs to be a clean surface.

Different. Not sure base mounting holes are even the same. Each year of model a, different suppliers, if authenticity is not your concern then limitless substitutes are worth experimenting, and money...

From Paul's video, the ride was good, probably great shocks. I think the cotter pins all had the same...

He was a restorer's restorer. An eye for detail others missed. Frank and direct the couple of times I met him. I referred many times to his work over the years.

Check for wear. Weld up, and dress with a file. The pedals ride on a shaft, and can be repaired to fix your problem Rebush, and install the missing zerk while you have the pedals off the shaft....

Reuse a terminal block if not damaged. Repos may not fit. Haven't actually done this, Sacramento vintage was the likely source of my harnesses, and probably the majority of west coast replacements.

I have reworked each original shock, with new seals, and leak test every single unit.
I have a good selection of original shock arms and tubular links.

If you rotate the mirror 180 degrees the mirror will then be able to look more toward the center of the car. Twist it 180 degrees.
