Re: My 1941 Ford isn't running right

I had the same problem once, turned out the spring tension of the points was just old and tired. Causing them to float at high rpms. New points fixed the problem.

After lots of troubleshooting i finally found the problem. Shutoff valve on the bottom of the tank was full of crap. Bouncing are just right would cause it to plug. Fuel pressure gauge would have...

I saved my old one, it actually has ford imprinted in the casing. It tested ok? I also have another new Echlin in the box. Maybe I shouldnt have replaced both the coil and condenser at the same...

Napa Coil IC7 oil filled, I believe I left the resistor in under the dash. And measured 4.5 volts at the coil. Also replaced the condenser with one from Napa. I can check voltage again and try...

I've replaced coil, condenser and points. Condenser and coil tested ok with but i tried it anyways. Not that its not possible one of the new parts isnt bad. I was nervous about the compression...

ECH ic7 6 volt coil with 1.2 ohms resistance.

rhino liner is a good idea, I was thinking about using 1/8 hardboard. But that would fall apart if it got wet.

Well... answered my own question. Airtex was bought by someone else and the internals of the pump are different now. Sounds like at some point they want to switch back. He didnt sound like thats...

Recently picked up a 8902 from RockAuto, looks like an Airtex... Has a generic 8902 printed on the side of it. It is not flow thru, I can barely blow any air thru the pump in either direction. ...

This is kinda of a FYI post more than anything. I bought the hose from either mac or dennis less than 2 years ago. I'm sure I bought one that was rated for ethanol. I'm guessing thats not what came...

So I've been dealing with hard starting due to having fuel drain back to the tank after a week or so. I've gotten sick of trying to chase down the issue, so i went the route of adding an Airtex 8902...

Re: GREAT battery charger recommendation

I got the same one a few days ago, so far its working great. I like the fact you can override the safety to charge a completely dead battery for 5 minutes before going back to normal mode.
