Re: suspension squawk

Back in my younger days when me and the wife were still active we had an old box spring that made god awful squeaks. Though lubrication was never an issue we had to retire that old thing because the...

Re: Sacrificial Anode

19Fordy touched on the subject of the PH balance in your coolant. If the PH is way off, things are going to corrode. Aren't there certain antifreeze solutions out there that are more balanced then...

Re: Grounding Problems Cause By Frame Painting?

If using an existing hole in the frame to ground something, yes, you should clean that area for good ground. If drilling and tapping for a ground bolt then the threads alone should be sufficient....

Re: Mouse motor check it out

That family of mice actually got to live inside a flathead v8. Hell yeah, how cool is that. I bet they threw some of the best parties.

Re: Anyone....Anyone?????

Only time I used it was for sound deadener on the underside of a stainlees steel kitchen sink. I thought that it would be thicker. It took many applications to get a decent buildup. For the floor...

Re: Pilot Bearing Question

.002 clearance is fine but the pilot on your input shaft looks to be worn. How can you get a good measurement on that?

Re: Cooked corn in radiator

I've got some radiators stored out in the shed. Never dawned on me that a critter would go on in there and raise a family. I suppose that I should plug the openings with something.

Re: Tips/suggestions for driving rear bearing on to shaft on a '39 transmission

Yes, tip the trans on end but the shaft needs to be supported individually. Heat the bearing in a preheated oven set at 200 degrees for 10 minutes. If the housing bore and the shaft are both clean of...
