Re: Need H10 coke bottle plugs. Got ANY

Tom, the top picture is what you are looking for, the plugs in the cool yellow display are 2 piece, and have 2 ribs but are eariler plugs for like 33-35 or 6. I bought a NOS set of the 2 rib H10s at...

Re: Speaking of engines

The quickest way to tell that is a 21 stud engine is that there is a head stud at the 6 oclock position at the bottom of EACH cylinder hole. That is DEFiNITELY a 21 stud engine.

Re: 1932 Roadster - Rubber Goods

Thirdgenauto will not sell you junk. Michael there is wonderful. Most people I know try to use an original rubber strip between the firewall and cowl as the remake is too thick and solid and won't...

Re: 32 a400

Yeah Uncle Buck, he was my best friend for 41 years. Not a day goes by that I don't think of him. The 32 5w I painted for him in the 1970s is now on the road when not sitting in my garage. It was...

Re: 32 a400

Dick, If you go to my albums, there is one of the 33 with a few pictures, a couple are on the ferry. With that original top, 20 years ago I told the previous owner that would never make it to Bend...

Re: 32 a400

Dick, when it quits raining, and the sun comes out to warm up a bit, I will take it out for a drive and some current pictures! 2 owners ago was a guy who rebuilt 33-34 radios so of course he put one...

Re: 32 a400

I have a friend who lives about 50 miles from me that has a 4 cyl 32 B400. He and his cousin went down to CA and drove it up here to Washington back in the 60s or very early 70s.
It is still in...

Re: Question about lacquer paint

Yes Bored&Stroked, I forgot to mention sealer as I never paint anything without using it. Once you see "alligator skin" appear seconds after shooting color you will never fail to use it in the...

Re: Question about lacquer paint

I would agree on all the advice except 1, I know from experience you can paint lacquer over 400 sand scratches MANY many coats and still see them. I would finish wet sand good modern build primer...

Re: Can paint be shipped

For the last 5 or 6 cars I have painted I have had paint, reducer, thinner and activator all shipped to me from both California and New Jersey (TCP global, Tamco). All the boxes had a "this side up"...

Re: Pertronix Nightmare

I think the 12 v guys with no problems probably have an alternator on the engine. My limited understanding is that the Pertronix systems don't like the voltage variance a generator puts out compared...

Re: 12volt or not?

When everything is the way it is supposed to be, 6 volts is just as good as 12. IMO, it would be a shame to change in your particular car. Of the 5 cars I have that run flatheads, only 1, the...

Re: Dead/ shorted battery cell

Quote I used to work for a battery manufacturer in the US and did customer training sessions as part of the gig. I also did battery autopsy for Delphi.
I've never heard of that procedure...

Re: PNW Flathead Rebuilders

Dave will probably not be back in business himself. I think he is selling or has sold his mahine tools to a person who wants to learn flatheads from Dave. The thing is, Dave is still in rehab and...

Re: Dead/ shorted battery cell

When a cell in a battery is shorted (6 or 12 v) and a load is put on it like trying to turn the engine over, the cell will bubble profusely. Usually takes 2 people to check this and it has to be a...

Re: Should Thread seal tape be used on Pressure Switchs on stop lights?

It could be that the China tapered threads are not exactly the same as original US made switches had and need some kind of sealer. I had a situation where I was suspecting the copper washers were...

Re: Help in identifying a Columbia 2 speed rear

If you wanted to use it in an earlier car, say 1940, you could get 1940 axle housings and axles (verifyiing the 4 spider gears have the same number of teeth) and it would work if you have all the...

Re: Garage Propane heater use?

Rick, be patient. It doesn't get this cold or stay for very long here. I have lived here all my life. My 24 x 32 insulated workspace is heated by an electric "furnace" that fits between studs. It...

Re: 3.54 and a Columbia?

I have a 3.63 in the Columbia in my 40 coupe. It is has a 59 series engine, 3 3/16 bore with 4" crank, mild cam and Holley 4bbl. It works very well in this area (lots of hills). I found a NOS ...

Ease up boys, we don't need either of you getting blocked. I was banned once for some period of time and never knew why. I don't think I am argumentative.
