An you easily throw a pressure gauge on the engine to get a baseline oil pressure both at idle and high rpm? Or have you already done this?

Messed with a variety of resistor configurations today it appears that a resistor in series of a value between 2.2 --2.5 ohms does the trick. I do think that each car will end up being slightly...

Well here are my plans
1 The tank is in tough shape purchased a new (bob drake) replacement and aftermarket sensor. I did take the old sensor out cleaned it up (filed points) and seems to be working...

I think Kevin there is a current limiting resistor in the gauge itself. I'm aware (thanks to a few here on the barn ) how the gauge works it's basically a form of pulse width modulation.

Rebuilt coil back from Skip Haney (41)

Left the ignition on in my car for the day ( 90 degree day) so of course points left in the closed position and I burned up the coil. Received it back from Skip Haney -looks good as new!!!!

This is exactly the kind of feedback I was hoping for. I had not thought about the safety side of things with the pickup tube coming out for the top and maybe I'll pull the tank see if I can get...

Anyone swapped out the original 41 ford fuel tank and purchased one of their (Tanks) sending units as well.

They don't make a stock replacement with the fuel line located bottom back drivers...

I took the car on three rides since this silly thing popped up. I now believe it is resolved and as far as I can tell it was a super small leak in the gas line right next to the fuel pump. Time...
