Re: My’40 PU is a ‘42 w a ‘40 front clip.

A 40 front end would make it a lot more valuable in my opinion. I would leave it as is.

Re: What kind of jack do you carry

I have done that also.

Now if I get tires, when I come home, I use my air ratchet to loosen all the lug nuts and re torque them so that I can replace the tire if need be. I even tore a bicep once...

Re: What kind of jack do you carry

Besides the Jack Daniels, in my 48 I have a scissors jack out of an old Honda. For the other cars, I have AAA towing insurance.

Mail order dual exhaust systems

Does anyone know of any parts stores that offer a dual exhaust system for home installation for a 1948 Ford passenger car?

All I can find are for earlier cars or "discontinued" deals. I can...

Re: Speed Bleeders size?

I just installed the Dorman equivalent(12701) of the Russel speed bleeders on my 48. The threads are indeed 3/8 24 but I also noticed that the new bleeders had a smaller hex size than the Ford part....

Re: Dennis Carpenter, R.I.P.

I used to talk to him on occasion at Autofair in Charlotte and at his business. Fine guy, he will leave a hole in a lot of lives.

Nevermind, the answer is yes, I went ahead and...
