Re: Max Speed of a Model A in Stock Form
Perhaps you should think about your brakes and steering at 65 mph let alone the kids on bikes and animals in the road. I like 35-40 and enjoying the scenery, waves and smiles from other folks on the...

Re: Why do you own a Model A?
I always loved Model T Fords. I had three at different times and rebuilt a lot of parts to get them in good shape. Then I grew up and got an A. Still have a T but drive the A a lot.

Re: Hood supports
I have them and they work fine for just propping the hood sides open. But if I want to work on the engine I do like most folks do, lay a towel over the closed half and open the other side all the way...

Re: wind wings
Get some plane ones and take them to a place that sells grave stones as they do custom etching on the stones all the time. Have your grandson come up with a design he likes. Most grave stone folks...

Re: 29 Roadster won't idle all the way down
Check to be sure the idle screw is backed off on the carb so the throttle closes. Also check and lube all of the throttle rod parts don't forget the apparatus on the firewall. Also check that nothing...

Re: Bone Stock or Modified?
As you can easily see, my roadster is way out of line for body and wheel color but it is eye catching if only for a quick glance. It also came to me with a March, 1937 diamond engine. It has seat...

Re: Lifting body to adjust sagging doors
Sounds like you are talking about my '29 roadster. Tried all the easy things to get the doors and hood to line up but it was frame sag all the time. Simple job on a lift with chains on the frame...

Rear axle ratio and car speed
Due to damage I had to replace the ring and pinion in my '29. Went from stock 3.78:1 to a 3.54:1. Did not change the speedometer gear. If my speedometer reads 40 mph what might be my actual speed ? ...

Re: Car fails to acheave high speed
I am right in the middle of that issue right now only my problem is at the other end of the scale. Car idles way to fast as the throttle will not shut all the way. Yes, the idle screw is backed off. ...

Re: ‘29 Phaeton Upholstery Color
Yes, '29 roadsters used the blue-grey in the cockpit but the rumble was the brown/tan color. I am curious whenever I see a '29 because it seems that most all of them are brown both front and back. ...

Call Bert's in Denver and talk with Steve. They have all the parts except the fabric. Tell him to stop at his bank first.
