The seller also has a 1936 5 window coupe for sale, with this engine.

The picture is again terrible and he hasn't sent me anymore pictures, but this looks a lot more like a 37 engine to me.

Wood looks poorly painted and interior is ugly IMHO in white, but it is otherwise a nice car

Thanks, it is clearly an 8BA, the stamp can be seen in the pictures.

Having established that, the second question is how much would that deter from the value of the car (a club convertible)?

Please excuse my ignorance, but is there ny way of telling from these (lousy) pictures if this engine is correct for a 1937 car?

It is obviously missing it's original generator, but I have no idea...
