40/41 pick up chin pan, also used on 40 standard

the later model truck cabs have a tab welded to roof to prevent sags, I glued a wooden block onto the roof of my 38 that I worked on then ran a screw into the block with an uph washer

yes they were! in 39 and more prominent in 40 up could be 95 hp mercury version but not in 38

power valve bad--carb float set too high--inlet need valve has trash under it. clogged jets in carb would not flood out engine but just the opposite it would lean the engine out

remove interior panel from door reach in and slide rod with the bumper installed thru the door and then use small bolt to attach to door frame/post. there should also be a washer with a slot that...

1947 cab/chassis/script bed

one owner, well used truck showing 80,000 miles plus. front fenders rusted away, cab is very good except for dented roof and some door dings. cab not rusty-good floor , script bed has been used...

why not go with the floating kit from flathead ted. I have been impressed with them and have put them on 34/36/29/28 cars and several pick up[ trucks. work great and go on fairly easily

first define low vacuum--check for leak on windshield wiper motor
2nd year engine--possible adjustable lifters?
3rd pull carb and check for trash in float bowl and jet size--also tell us carb type...

Getz Gears--could mean a high speed rear axle--3:25, 3:54 or even lower would also lead to a shine hauler. run the tag thru and see what part of the state it came from

you have at the least an Alabama hot rod or you could have a "shine hauler"-lots of this era cars were equipped with nailhead Buicks. these engines are sought after

small diameter battery cables off a 12 volt system will NOT carry the amperage required to start a hot 6 volt engine--not gonna do it!!

no it is not an easy fix, lot of work to do that job. run compression, check for vacuum flutter indicating bad or stuck valves

122" ladder bar style frame, no x member. 40 3/4 tons had narrow trim and V8 stamped in hood as has been mentioned before. a bunch of other differences post some pictures
