WTB: Working Vacuum Wiper (External/Black)

I'm looking for a replacement Trico vacuum wiper for my '31 coupe, so it's an externally mounted, black wiper. If anyone has one in good working condition, I'd be very interested. Thanks!

Re: Wildly different manifold flange thicknesses?

Thanks everyone! I think I may just bite the bullet and use this as an opportunity to buy a new pair of manifolds from Snyders. Not ideal, but beats trying to find a reputable/responsive machine shop...

Question Wildly different manifold flange thicknesses?

On my '31 coupe, the intake manifold recently cracked pretty badly near the carburetor. I have no idea whether either of the manifolds on the car are original. I went online to shop for a replacement...

Re: '31 Battery Mount Confusion

I guess another alternative would be to just thread the studs down another 1/4" or so? Also with the corner brackets, were they just slipped onto the stud and then tightened with a nut from above? Or...

Re: 1931 Battery Holder

I know this is a really old thread, but is there any chance you can point me to some examples of what you might use for the 1/4" rubber mat? I'm curious what you've found to work. Thanks!

Question '31 Battery Mount Confusion

My '31 coupe that I inherited from my dad has always had a battery hold down shaped like a rectangle that encircles the top of the battery, and then is held down by the two studs/nuts on opposite...

Gas gauge tightness?

The neoprene gasket in my gas gauge has started to leak, and looks pretty deteriorated, so I'm planning to do a gauge rebuild with cork gaskets. Our of curiosity, does anyone have any tips for...

Re: Coolant petcock alignment?

By thread sealer, are we talking something like red Loctite?

Does this noise sound familiar to anyone?

My '31 has been making an odd noise when the engine is running, and I'm not entirely sure where it's coming from. My next step is to remove the fan belt and start turning things by hand to see what...

Coolant petcock alignment?

Quick question for the group. The water pipe and water petcock on my '31 was in pretty bad shape (rusted and peeling on the inside), so tonight I replaced it with this kit:

Re: Newbie need some help diagnosing a noise (probably the 1000th time)

Awesome, thanks! I'll give this a shot tomorrow and see if any particular cylinder quiets down when shorted.

Re: Newbie need some help diagnosing a noise (probably the 1000th time)

Stupid question, but when you say short out the plugs I assume you mean something like an insulated screwdriver from plug terminal to a head bolt? Obviously head bolt first, in case the screwdriver...

Re: Newbie need some help diagnosing a noise (probably the 1000th time)

I read a comment on here about those contributing to overheating. Any truth to that logic?

Question Newbie need some help diagnosing a noise (probably the 1000th time)

I'm sure this is a common question for newbie like myself, but I figured I'd poll the wisdom here instead of beating me head on the problem.

I have a 31 Coupe that I inherited from my dad, and...

Re: Identify original headlight reflectors?

Tried... I can't find any gasket that looks like it's meant for this position in the headlight. The stickies in this forum don't help either, since they are just links to parts houses and plating...

Re: Identify original headlight reflectors?

Hmm I'll pop them out tomorrow and see if I can make out a Ford script anywhere. As far as the cork gaskets go, does anyone sell replacements? I took a quick look around online and didn't turn up...

Identify original headlight reflectors?

What's an easy way to tell whether I have original reflectors, or repros? I'm guessing they are original, since the finish is very poor, and there is some sort of reflective plastic insert that is...

Re: What age group???

I'm 31 and inherited my 1931 Coupe from my father, who purchased it as his first car when he was young. When I was born, I was driven home from the hospital in this A. :)

Odometer parts?

The odometer in my 31 coupe has never worked for as long as I've owned the car, but the speedometer works great. Today I decided to disassemble it all, and I've found the culprit. The first (1/10th...
