Re: 1952 Magic Air heater motor wire color

Touch a multi-meter wire, to each one separately and the the other meter wire to a ground. Turn on the fan switch and which ever one reads 6 volts is your hot wire (red).

Re: 53 Merc engine gaskets?

If you have the time, and he will let you (some mechanics won't let you watch while they work), you might want to watch, while he does the work on the engine. It will give you tremendous insight into...

Re: 1953 Mercury Monterey Literature

These two, are very good to have in your library. The first one is 108 pages and the second one is 105 pages. Both are well illustrated.

Re: Mercomatic Tag

Ralph,

As you know, from one of my prior post, I changed the fluid to Type F and am now monitoring the performance every time...

Re: Hood adjustment on 53' Mercury

Actually you have to loosen 5 bolts on each side. Had to loosen both sides then I was able to adjust the hood.

Thanks for the input.

Re: Hood adjustment on 53' Mercury

You mention "3" bolts that attache the hood. Mine has only 2. I would guess, that if I backed off all 4 bolts, that I might get enough "play", to adjust the hood out.

The alignment of the fender...

Hood adjustment on 53' Mercury

How do you adjust the hood forward, on a 53" Mercury? The drivers side
(pic #1) is tighter than the passenger side (pic #2).

It looks like I would have to put shims behind the hinge box,...
