when it was first rebuilt, up till a couple months ago, the needle was pushing max on oil pressure on the guage which I think is 60 if I remember right. Then a couple months ago I noticed it dropped...

I took the fan belt off, same knocking.
Next step maybe drop the oil pan? Is this going to be fixable without removing the engine ya think?

Hey guys,
The old gal is making some noise, seems like it got worse last time I drove her,
At higher RPM's its making a pretty noticeable knocking noise that sounds like its coming from the engine....

I did have a bad flasher, and a loose connection in the signal switch, both resolved now thanks for the tips.

I was trying to hook this up with driving/fog lights, but you are probably correct that they would draw too much for the flasher. I'm currently waiting on some sockets to arrive that I will bench...

I double checked everything and as far as I can tell it's wired according to the diagram. When you say I need to run a seperate wire for the brake light that's disconnected, I'm a little confused....

These look really hard/expensive to repair, they are soldered together around the whole core.

My dad is thinking about building his own core for it with copper brake line coiled back and forth.

The Hot Water Heater that came in my 39 leaks water out of the core, I bought another one on ebay and that also leaks water out of the core.
Is this very common with these having cracked...

ahh ok thanks, ya the horn rod did get tweaked a bit when I first tried to take it out the wrong way. So maybe it's either that or something with that switch.

thanks for the kind words, you nailed it spot on. We rebuilt and replaced the original fuel pump (non sediment bowl type). The car idled! But ran poorly and the fuel pump was leaking around the...

thanks, I'm going to rebuild the pump and if it doesn't solve it I'll buy a gauge to check the pressure.

If you add more choke it stops it from puttering out for the most part but it runs at very high idle doing that.

I would prefer duals as well. But I don't have a lift I'd be doing everything on my back.
