oh and also checked amp meter and it looks ok too but have not tries to jumper wire it

ok guys - back from vacation. New Coil and new coil wire came in
I have checked all connections, all have voltage. Checked with a light and ohm meter

i get power to lower and upper plate - but...

OK. Tell us what you have. Where does the voltage stop ? Are you getting 6v at the point arm when open ? Do you lose that voltage when the point arm closes ?

YES 6v open, lost when it close

ok, sorry to sound ignorant but does the timing pin slip in all the way when it hits the slot?
I have felt some movement on the pint but it will not go in and I thought in the past it did.

If I install a original pop out switch with my new modern set up (no points etc) will it work or should I go with modern ignition switch?

I have a 1929 Ford Coupe. Went out this morning top test my restored pop out ignition. Started fine.... let it idle for about 5 mins then took her out of the driveway and it died. Would not start...

When I was a teenager in the 80's my Dad and I hit alot of auto parts stores and dealerships looking for Model A Parts. I came across wiring harnesses that I think go with a Model A. Can you folks...
